Prof.F.Mammadov graduated from the Department of Information Measurement and Computing Technology of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University (ASOIU), formerly- Azerbaijan State Oil and Chemistry Institute. Following his graduation, he was appointed as a research assistant at the Signal Processing Laboratory of the ASOIU. His doctorate studies concentrated on developing real-time systems for data acquisition, transmission, and information processing within the Oil and Gas Industry. Between 1986 and 1988, he served as an Assistant Professor and Research Project Manager at the ASOI. His main research areas are signal and image processing, communication systems, computational intelligence, Artificial Neuro-fuzzy modelling, and control. Dr. Mammadov boasts a substantial scholarly record, including over 200 publications and five patents. His editorial contributions extend to being a guest editor and reviewer for numerous SCI journals, and he holds the esteemed position of Co-chair at internationally recognized conferences such as ICAFS, ICSCCW, and ICTPE, indexed by Scopus and the Web of Science platforms. His exceptional contributions have garnered him numerous awards, and he is an esteemed member of various international institutions..
In the academic realm, Dr. Mammadov engaged in an intensive French language course at Kiev State University of Ukraine and Paul Valery University in France (Montpellier) from 1987 to 1988. From 1988 to 1994, he served as an Associate Professor at universities in Algeria, where he established the Digital Signal and Image Processing Research Laboratory.
He was elected and appointed head of the Soviet Specialists’ Association in Western Algeria(1990-1993)
Proficient in Turkish, Russian, English, and French, Prof. Mammadov has been an integral part of the Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
His leadership roles within the Near East University included Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1996-2000), Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (2000-2014), Director and founder of the Graduate School of Applied and Social Sciences (2002-2014), Chairman of Academic Promotion Commission and Vice President (2000-2020).
Since 2022, he has been a Prorektor for quality assurance, innovation, and international relations at Odlar Yurdu University.
